Since beginning life as a lab experiment in 1964, plasma
TV has taken the central role in the Hi-Def Digital TV
revolution. They look great, can be installed directly on a
wall like a painting and create exceptionally clear images.
Unlike LCD TVs, plasmas only come in larger screen
sizes—42” up to a mind-blowing 103”. But like LCDs,
they keep getting better and better. For example,
ultra-clear 1080p picture resolution is becoming more
common in plasmas. One of these matched up with
a Blu-ray disc player, HD DVD player or advanced video
game with 1080p output is the ultimate in picture realism.
What are the advantages of a plasma TV? They are
ultra-thin. The viewing angle is better than an LCD,
so if you entertain in a large, spread out room, everyone
can enjoy the same great picture. But the biggest
advantage that plasma enjoys is its superior contrast ratio.
Dark scenes have a deep richness, while maintaining
excellent detail. And on the other end of the spectrum,
bright scenes are vibrant and full of brilliant color.
As a main TV for your home theater, it’s hard to beat
a plasma TV.
