Our History
The year was 1972. Pants were plaid polyester when we opened our first Tweeter store next to Boston University. This little store quickly became a mecca for people who wanted high-end stereo equipment. We spent a lot of time explaining pre-amps, direct drive turntables, magnetic cartridges and acoustic suspension speakers. In fact, we spent so much time explaining this brave new world that we became known as the place to go for really knowledgeable advice you could really trust.

From that one little store, we expanded throughout New England, and then throughout the country. Now, after 35 years and over 100 stores in 18 states, the same principles and passions guide us. Only now the brave new world is much, much more complicated. It's a world of home theater, digital TVs and whole-house automation. So what's become more important than ever?
